Gate gas station, convenience store opens in Brooklyn

The Jacksonville-based company also will open its first Gate Express Carwash this week.

Jacksonville-based Gate Petroleum Co. opened its Brooklyn store near Downtown about 6 a.m. Friday, drawing customers in 29 degree weather who were offered free coffee and doughnuts.

The store, at 450 Park St., features Gate’s Fresh Kitchen fast-casual café, Yobe frozen yogurt and Best Bean Coffee along with fountain drinks and other convenience items, including an on-site car wash.

The location will offer free coffee and 50 percent off all Yobe yogurt through Jan. 11.

Meanwhile, Gate will open its first Gate Express Carwash on Jan. 10 in Collins Plaza at 7059 Collins Crossing.

It will offer free car washes at the $20 diamond level through Jan. 19. 

The 125-foot tunnel system will wash a car in less than 4 minutes.
