The city approved a permit Thursday for R&R General Contractors Inc. of Altamonte Springs to renovate space at the Westside shopping center at a cost of almost $298,000.
Normandy Square, at 7953 Normandy Blvd., is anchored by a Winn-Dixie grocery store.
At least 20 Ace Hardware stores operate in the five-county metropolitan area, according to a store-locator list. They are owned by individual retailers.
Ace Hardware spokeswoman Kate Kirkpatrick at Oak Brook, Illinois, headquarters said in October that Lloyd Ramjit, who is new to the organization, will own the Normandy Square store.
Brixmor Property Group owns the shopping center.
A site plan shows Ace Hardware will occupy 10,080 square feet near the eastern side of the center.
Acehardware.com said more than 5,000 Ace Hardware stores are locally owned and operated in the 50 states, the District of Columbia and about 55 countries. It said it is the largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the industry.
The city is reviewing a permit application for IHOP to build-out in the former Bob Evans Restaurant at 3250 Hodges Blvd.
No contractor is listed for the $220,000 project. The property is owned by Sunshine Restaurant Partners LLC.
In February, Colliers International Executive Vice President Jason Ryals and senior vice presidents Gary Montour and Paul Scull announced they represented Sunshine Restaurant Partners in the lease of the 5,275-square-foot location for an IHOP restaurant. Bob Evans closed late last year.
It will be Sunshine Restaurant Partners’ fourth IHOP location in Jacksonville.
Atlanta-based Caliber Capital LLC sold the Shoppes at Bartram Park building leased to Sherwin-Williams and Nail Spot to three buyers in care of Rettner Building Managment Corp.
La Nopalera also intends to open a Mexican restaurant there.
Rettner paid $3.8 million for the property Feb. 21. New York Community Bank issued a $2.5 million mortgage.
Caliber Capital, through Caliber Bartram Park LLC, bought the bank-owned building in May 2016 for $1.4 million and renovated it for new tenants.
The 9,376-square-foot building on the 1.56-acre site at 12640 Bartram Park Blvd. was built in 2006 and used as Daruma Japanese Steakhouse.
Brightwork Real Estate of Tampa plans for a self-storage center on 1.79 acres at 5017 Philips Highway next to the Wawa gas station and convenience store it is developing.
Brightwork filed plans with the St. Johns River Water Management District for a three-story, 101,100-square-foot self-storage facility at northeast Philips Highway and Bowden Road.
The self-storage center is designed east of the Wawa store.
Bohler Engineering of Tampa is the civil engineer.
BW Philips Bowden LLC, led by Brightwork Real Estate, bought the 3.9-acre site in May for $2.25 million from Franklin G. Griffin as trustee of the Franklin G. Griffin Revocable Living Trust. It was a former auto dealership site.
Wawa will develop on 2.13 acres.
The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing plans for the expansion to the Johnson Family YMCA at 5700 Cleveland Road in Northwest Jacksonville.
The YMCA of Florida’s First Coast Inc. proposes an expansion at the 3.6-acre site to add about 1,167 square feet of office space and an almost 4,200-square-foot teen center. Plans also show a pool.
