Donation from Tutu: Archbishop Desmund Tutu donated a collection of his manuscripts to honor retiring University of North Florida President John Delaney. The manuscripts will  become a permanent part of the collection at UNF’s Thomas G. Carpenter Library.

Workers comp rate reduced: The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation said the rate for workers’ compensation insurance will be reduced 1.8 percent. 

Money for STEM2: The Northeast Florida Regional STEM2 Hub  received $975,000 from the state for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) training to expand career opportunities for area students. State Sen. Aaron Bean worked to secure the funding.

Visitor center opens: The new Visit Jacksonville visitor center  is open at the Beaches Museum and History Park, 381 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach. 

Office building sale: Colliers International Northeast Florida Executive Vice President Chuck Diebel and senior associates Lisa McLatchey and Wade Powers represented Hines Development Co. in the $1 million sale of a 6,351-square-foot office building at 605 Palencia Club Drive, St. Augustine. The buyer is DLP Capital Advisors, LLC.

• Mark Lamensdorf joined Jacksonville-based Holmes Custom as controller, responsible for creating and implementing financial strategies for future growth.

• ELM, Ervin Lovett Miller, the Jacksonville-based architecture and planning firm, announced a retirement, a new employee and an apointment:

• Tim Miller retired in March after 17 years as a founding partner and becomes partner emeritus. Architect Sarah Marks will lead design and production management. Marketing and Public Relations Manager Erin Weinberg was appointed to San Marco Preservation Society board.

• The Community First Credit Union board of directors elected Elvia Williams, a JEA communications coordinator, to chair the credit union’s board for a four-year term.
