The city approved a permit Wednesday for Macquarie Group to expand in Riverplace Tower on the Downtown Southbank.
Dav-Lin Interior Contractors is the contractor for the $685,625 project to build-out 12,826 square of space on the fourth and fifth floors of the 28-story office building at 1301 Riverplace Blvd.
Macquarie Group has declined to comment on the expansion.
The Australia-based financial services company opened on the fifth floor in February 2016 to create a global banking shared-services office to serve its other locations. It has since expanded onto the fourth floor.
The Jacksonville office was created to provide finance, accounting, tax and regulatory support and other services to Macquarie functions in the U.S. and in some European markets. Its U.S. headquarters are in New York.
Macquarie Group employs almost 14,500 employees in 25 countries.
Macquarie is hiring in Jacksonville for product control, legal entity control, regulatory reporting, accounts payable, financial management, central compliance operations and other positions.
It won two sets of incentives – the first, a Qualified Target Industry Tax Refund grant approved in June 2015 from the city and state to create 123 jobs and a second QTI grant adopted in May 2017 to add 50 jobs and retain those already hired.
City records show the company hired 145 employees as of year-end 2017. The report shows 124 employees were hired at an average $83,414 and 21 at $62,401, but those don't include benefits.
