Eastland Development and Investments announced Monday that it will start construction of Bartram Market this week and that the shopping center will be anchored by Publix Super Markets Inc.
Wawa will build a gas station and convenience store on an outparcel.
Bartram Market is in southern Duval and northern St. Johns counties near The Pavilion at Durbin Park.
John Dodson, Eastland vice president of development, said the Publix store will be a 48,387-square-foot prototype with a pharmacy drive-thru.
Dodson said other tenants for the center include Dep Nail and Spa, L&L Cleaners, The UPS Store, China Wok, Fancy Sushi and Forever Vets Animal Hospital.
In addition to Wawa, outparcel tenants include Wendy’s and Dunkin’ Donuts, Dodson said.
He said Ponte Vedra-based Eastland soon will announce more tenants. Completion is expected in December 2019.
The 79,059-square-foot shopping center also will have 10 outparcels for ground-lease. The site is 37.25 acres.
Hawkins Construction is the contractor; England-Thims and Miller Inc. is the civil engineer, and Cuhaci & Peterson of Orlando is the architect. Valley National Bank is handling construction financing.

Plans show that Bartram Market primarily is in St. Johns County, with two outparcels along Bartram Park Boulevard in Duval County.
Dodson said previously the location, at Bartram Park Boulevard and Race Track Road, sits with Bartram Park to the north, Nocatee to the east, Julington Creek to the west and northwest St. Johns County to the south.
Eastland is master developer of Bartram Park, a more than 3,900-acre mixed-used development permitted for 9,700 residential units, 1.3 million square feet of commercial space, 1.7 million square feet of offices and 300 hotel rooms.
Bartram Park Boulevard runs parallel to the west of Interstate 95 from Old St. Augustine Road to Race Track Road.
Nocatee ranks No. 7 in the John Burns Real Estate Consulting Top 50 Master-Planned Communities of 2017 and Bartram Park was No. 17. Those were the top two in Northeast Florida.
