Aldi’s proposed Parkway Shops grocery store in North Jacksonville is in city review.

The city is reviewing plans for the proposed discount grocery store at 15324 Max Leggett Parkway, Building 200, next to Hobby Lobby.

Ramco-Gershenson Inc. is the developer of Parkway Shops and the adjacent River City Marketplace.

Aldi will open a 22,400-square-foot store within a leased area of 26,454 square feet, the overall site plan shows.

It is the 11th confirmed site in Northeast Florida for the Germany-based discount chain.

Also this week, the city approved a permit for construction of an Aldi store at 9445 Argyle Forest Blvd. in Oakleaf Corner. Deerfield Construction Co. Inc. of Loveland, Ohio, is the contractor for the almost 21,000-square-foot store at a project cost of almost $2.5 million.

Noah’s Event Venue seeks permit

Noah’s Event Venue is in review for a project that has changed to a two-story, 12,000-square-foot building from previous plans for a one-story, 8,181-square-foot project.

The Utah-based company will build on about 1.8 acres at 11545 Village Crossing Drive in Southside Quarter at southwest Butler Boulevard and Interstate 295, according a pending building permit.

The project is off Gate Parkway.

No contractor is listed on the permit application that shows a $1.5 million job cost. Method Studio of Salt Lake City is the architect.

The first-floor footprint is 6,324 square feet.

Plans show that half of the first floor comprises the two-story main event hall and the other half consists of event and lobby space, the catering kitchen, café, restrooms and storage.

The second floor comprises meeting facilities and space for bride’s and groom’s rooms. Half of the floor is open to the main event hall below.
