A St. Augustine company submitted plans Oct. 22 with the city of Jacksonville to develop a 270-unit apartment community in OakLeaf Plantation.
The developer is AFI Associates Inc., a subsidiary of The Hutson Cos. The proposed name of the community is the Villages of Argyle Forest.
Site plans show nine buildings on 14 acres near Merchants Way and Argyle Forest Boulevard, adjacent to the OakLeaf Town Center.
The community would comprise 81 one-bedroom, 135 two-bedroom and 54 three-bedroom units. Plans show 543 parking spaces.
The site plans were signed by John G. Metcalf, the vice president of AFI Associates and The Hutson Cos. Hutson is the developer of OakLeaf Plantation and recently announced plans for another large master-planned community, SilverLeaf, in St. Johns County.
England-Thims & Miller Inc. of Jacksonville is listed as the project engineer and landscape architect.
