Business in Brief: ZIM comes to Jacksonville; CREW makes IMPACT Awards

The Jacksonville Port Authority announced the first ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. container ship visited the port’s Blount Island Marine Terminal.

 ZIM is one of the world’s largest container shipping lines.

The service to Jacksonville is part of ZIM’s Asia to North America offerings. The shipping line now offers direct service from Jacksonville to Kingston, Jamaica; Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai and Ningbo in China; and Busan, South Korea.

YMCA elects Boynton: The YMCA of Florida’s First Coast announced that Michelle “Shelly” Boynton was elected chairwoman of the Metropolitan board of directors. Boyton is an attorney who has been a member of the board since 2011. Doug Baer, CEO of Brooks Rehabilitation will serve a third term as vice chair and treasurer. Anthony Jabbour, CEO of Black Knight Inc., has joined the board.

CREW makes IMPACT Awards: CREW Jacksonville recognized three winners for its 2018 IMPACT Awards for their commercial real estate industry work from Aug. 31, 2016 to Aug. 31, 2018. 

Laura DiBella, executive director of the Nassau County Economic Development Board, won the individual award. Preferred Growth Properties and broker Cantrell & Morgan Inc. won the initiative award for The Strand and The Crossing at Town Center. Rayonier Inc. and Development Planning and Design Director Kent Findley along with DiBella and the Nassau County Economic Development Board won the project award for Rayonier’s headquarters at Wildlight in Nassau County.
