An international company that provides customer service via phone, email and other channels is opening a center in Jacksonville and initially hiring 350 employees to operate it.
Hinduja Global Solutions will open its first Florida center at 6680 Southpoint Parkway by late November. The company, headquartered in Bangalore, India, has more than 44,000 employees in 75 centers across seven countries. The headquarters for HGS U.S. is in Lisle, Illinois.
The company plans to fill 350 positions in its first phase by the summer of 2019, with the goal of eventually having 500 employees at the center, where it will lease 30,000 square feet.
“Jacksonville is a vibrant, growing community with an educated and skilled workforce that can add value for our business and our clients,” said Tim Schuh, president of North American Operations and Global Business Excellence at Hinduja. “We are excited to bring economic growth and job opportunities to the region and look forward to welcoming highly talented customer service people to the HGS team.”
Ross Duff, the company's senior vice president of operations, said the center will “manage inbound customer service phone calls in addition to customer contracts over other channels such as social media, chat and email.”
About 80 percent of the 350 positions will be in customer service, with the balance in human resources, training, frontline management and administrative leadership, he said.
According to a news release, HGS has grown its North American operations by more than 40 percent in the last 12 months by adding clients and expanding business with its existing customers.
HGS plans to start recruiting and hiring associates this month. The company's website had not been updated to include Jacksonville as of late Thursday. To learn more about the company and look for jobs, visit careers.teamhgs.com.
Diana Dixon, a representative of MSLGROUP, the public relations firm hired to announce the opening of the center, said HGS doesn't release information about its clients or employee pay.
The news release said employees receive training, health benefits, 401k matching, loyalty programs, celebration awards and incentive opportunities. The positions are said to be “ideal for applicants who enjoy problem-solving and helping people within a supportive learning environment.”
