The Jacksonville Aviation Authority on Monday announced Rusty Chandler will serve as interim CEO while it searches for a replacement for Steve Grossman, who is leaving JAA at the end of October.
Chandler is the chief of Cecil Airport and general aviation. He will not seek the job as permanent CEO, a JAA news release said.
Chandler joined JAA in 1998, after retiring from the U.S. Navy. Grossman served as JAA CEO for the past nine years.
The JAA Board also selected officers for the 2018-19 fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1.
Jacksonville executive Jay Demetree was elected chair; Russ Thomas, Availity CEO, vice chair; Ray Alfred, president and CEO of Emergency Responders’ Industries Inc., secretary; and Frank Mackesy, University of North Florida Director of Public Safety and Security/Police Chief, treasurer.
