Former television newscaster Nikki Kimbleton was appointed Tuesday director of public affairs for the City of Jacksonville.
“This is a crucial role and requires extensive communications experience, and also a passion and love for our city,” said Mayor Lenny Curry in a news release.
Kimbleton has more than 20 of experience as a journalist, most recently 13 years at WJXT TV-4.
She began her professional career during her junior year at Troy University in Alabama, working as an anchor and reporter in Montgomery and Birmingham. In 2004, she moved home to Jacksonville.
Kimbleton will start in the Mayor’s Office on April 9.
