The city issued a permit Nov. 26 to Layton Construction Co. LLC to build a foundation for construction of an Ascension St. Vincent’s free-standing emergency department in southwest Jacksonville.
The project is planned on 2.15 acres at 8083 Parramore Road in Collins Town Center, at southwest I-295 and Collins Road. The foundation cost is $50,000.
Plans call for a 13,446-square-foot building with space for a patient and emergency vehicle drop-off.
St. Vincent’s Health System Inc. paid $2 million for the land Nov. 18.
Publix Super Markets Inc. continues to remodel its area stores.
The city is reviewing permit applications for Lakeland-based Publix to renovate stores in the Shoppes at Bartram Park and at Roosevelt Square, also called Ortega Park.
Elkins Construction LLC is the contractor for both projects.
The project cost is listed at $950,000 for renovation of the 45,331-square-foot Bartram store at 13820 Old St. Augustine Road. It was built in 2004.
The project cost at 4495 Roosevelt Blvd. is listed at $800,000. The roughly 51,000-square-foot store was built in 1998.
