Tamaya Market, which will be anchored by one of two announced Sprouts Farmers Markets in Jacksonville, is in St. Johns River Water Management District Review.
The 11.22-acre Tamaya Market, at northeast Beach and Kernan boulevards, will comprise a 75,000-square-foot grocery-anchored shopping center and three outparcels.
Plans show a 30,239-square-foot anchor store with a 12,000-square-foot retail building adjacent to one side and an 11,200-square-foot store to the other.
The center is at northwest Beach and Tamaya boulevards within the Tamaya community.
Harbour Retail Partners of Wrightsville, North Carolina, is the developer. It bought the site late last year.
Randy Kelley, Harbour Retail Partners manager and developer, said in December the more than $20 million project could be completed near the end of 2019. Phoenix-based Sprouts wants to open in the first half of 2020, which is driving the timing of the project.
The first Sprouts Farmers Market store in Jacksonville is under construction at the former Best Buy store in The Markets at Town Center. That one is further along.
Sprouts has not announced an opening date other than the second quarter this year.
Owner SF Markets LLC of Phoenix applied for a certificate of use for the 30,082-square-foot store at 4873 Town Center Parkway.
• Another building at Beachwood Plaza is taking shape at 11767 Beach Blvd. Gates of Beachwood, part of Hakimian Holdings, proposes a 5,000-square-foot shell building and preparation of the interior space for tenant considerations. The shell construction is shown as $443,900 with the shell work totaling $119,380 for one 2,000-square-foot and two 1,500-square-foot spaces. Permit applications are in review.
• A retail shell building was approved for construction in St. Johns County at 104 Ashourian Ave. in St. Augustine. The 11,158-square-foot retail shell building is being built at a cost of $544,956 in Ash Properties’ The Forum at Greenbriar.
