Hotel, retail notes: Home2 Suites in development in Westside; Code Ninjas plans franchise

Brooks Brothers plans improvements at Town Center.

Construction is pending for the Home2 Suites by Hilton at 513 Chaffee Point Blvd. in West Jacksonville.

No contractor is listed for the $7 million project, designed as a five-story, 85-unit, 47,026-square-foot building on 1.56 acres. The city is reviewing a permit application.

Charles H. Parsons Architect of Orlando is the architect. Morpheus Group LLC, led by Minesh Patel, of Lake City is the owner.

Plans show 66 queen studio rooms, six queen one-bedroom units and 13 connecting queen studios.

Retail notes

• The city is reviewing a permit application for improvements at the Brooks Brothers store at 4812 River City Drive, No. 137, in St. Johns Town Center. No contractor is specified for the $98,500 project.

Code Ninjas intends to open a franchise at 2758 Race Track Road, No. 401, in St. Johns County. The county issued a permit for the interior build-out of a 2,608-square-foot location at a cost of $130,000. Code Ninjas, based in Pearland, Texas, teaches computer programming to children ages 7 to 14. Prime Realty reported the center will open early in spring and enroll students this month.  It is the first location in the area. Prime Realty said the franchisee intends to open two more centers in the area.

O’Reilly Auto Parts is in St. Johns County review for a 7,734-square-foot store on 1.33 acres at 4405 U.S. 1 S.
