KIPP's Jennifer Brown appointed to FSCJ board

McGehee and Young are reappointed.

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday appointed Jennifer Brown and reappointed Thomas McGehee Jr. and Wayne Young to four-year terms on the Florida State College at Jacksonville district board of trustees.

Brown is the executive director of KIPP Jacksonville Charter Schools.

She also is a board member for the Northeast Florida Women Veterans Association.

McGehee is executive vice president and owner of Mac Papers Inc, a Jacksonville-based wholesale paper company.

He has served as a trustee for FSCJ since 1999.

Young is the director of response and environmental programs for JEA.

He served in the Navy for 25 years, commanding two warships and completing a tour of duty at the Pentagon. He received a bachelor’s degree in management technology, a master’s degree in telecommunications systems management and a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from the U.S. Naval Academy.

The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
