A plan submitted to the city shows more than 2 million square feet of warehouse space associated with Bacardi in North Jacksonville.
Owners of the 850-acre undeveloped Pecan Park Regional Activity Center at northeast Pecan Park Road and Interstate 95 are seeking a minor modification to property’s planned unit development that was approved in 2008.
The modification would relocate the site’s mix of commercial, office/business park and residential uses to a central location and place 46 acres of light industrial adjacent to I-95.
Submitted with the application was the Bacardi Conceptual Site Plan, dated June 4. It shows two warehouse buildings, one 1.539 million square feet and the other 498,960 square feet, totaling 2.038 million square feet.
Property records list the Pecan Park Regional Activity Center owner as Rum East LLC associated with Benderson Development Co. LLC of University Park.
Benderson’s website says the privately held company owns and manages more than 700 properties totaling more than 40 million square feet in 38 states. The company’s portfolio includes retail, office, industrial, hotel, residential and land holdings.
Attempts to reach Benderson for comment were unsuccessful.
The Bacardi Bottling Plant is along North Main Street and Bacardi USA is at One Imeson, both in North Jacksonville.
