Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores is planning to develop two more locations in Northeast Florida — in North Jacksonville and Baldwin.
It already operates north of Jacksonville International Airport.
Media Relations Supervisor Tara Carr said the Baldwin store would open in spring 2020 and the Duval Road location opening has not been determined.
The average Love’s Travel Stop provides 50 jobs, she said.
Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores is based in Oklahoma City. The engineer is Adkinson Engineering.
In North Jacksonville near the Amazon fulfillment center, the city issued a mobility fee calculation certificate for 11,800 square feet on 14.94 acres at northeast Interstate 295 and Duval Road.
It calculated a fee of $252,156 to mitigate the traffic impact.
The proposed building holds an 8,660-square-foot convenience store and 3,140-square-foot restaurant. The site will include eight diesel- and 16 car-fueling positions.
Carr said the location “will help serve even more customers traveling through the Jacksonville area with more convenient locations for fuel, food and other essential amenities.”
She said the construction schedule and dates are to be determined for that location.
In Baldwin, the city issued a mobility fee calculation certificate for a 26,700-square-foot Love’s Travel Stop on 17.1 acres at 17110 Brandy Branch Road. It calculated a fee of $417,597 to mitigate the traffic impact.
The site is at northwest I-10 and U.S. 301.
The project is a 17,100-square-foot travel stop with a convenience store, sandwich shop and fast-food restaurant. It will include nine diesel-fueling positions and 20 car-fueling positions and a 9,600-square-foot tire shop.
Carr said the location will feature a Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits and Godfather’s Pizza restaurant.
A spokeswoman said previously the company intended to open the store by early 2020 when intersection improvements are completed.
Carr said the road work is scheduled to be completed early next year.
Jacksonville City Council is reviewing Ordinance 2019-166 to rezone the property from one planned unit development to another for Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores Inc. to build the project.
Love’s bought the land in March 2018.
The chain opened a store in May 2015 at 400 Pecan Park Road off I-95 north of Jacksonville International Airport.
155-room hotel seeks permit near Mayo Clinic
A 155-room, seven-story hotel is in review for construction at 4905 San Pablo Road S., near Mayo Clinic.
MD Constructors GA LLC is the contractor for the $21.5 million project.
The developer is Hotel Development Partners LLC of Atlanta. The civil engineer is Prosser Inc.
Hotel Development Partners said previously on its website that its Fund III began with the Residence Inn Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.
The project is called San Pablo Place hotel on a permit application.
The property is owned by Steinemann San Pablo LLC. Steinemannco.com shows San Pablo Place as a 16-acre site for “upscale mixed-use” to include office, hotel and retail space.
Mayo Clinic is north of the site.
Hotel Development Partners CEO Allen O’Brien said previously the group expects to break ground early in the first quarter and open in fall 2020.
He said the hotel will include brand standard finishes and amenities similar to those at the group’s Residence Inns in Miami Beach Surfside and Perimeter Center/Dunwoody.
BMW adding pallets to new warehouse
The city is reviewing a permit to install pallet racking and a three-level mezzanine at a cost of $4.6 million to the BMW of North Florida LLC regional parts distribution center under construction at Westside Industrial Park.
The Conlan Co. is building the 445,000-square-foot center on almost 28 acres at 5560 Imeson Road. BMW has estimated the project at $30 million.
The property owner is IM500 LLC, affiliated with Westside Industrial Park developer Pattillo Industrial Real Estate.
BMW leases a 213,000-
square-foot center in Westside Industrial Park that was developed in 2002.
