Nightclub coming down for JTA transit hub

JTA bought the property in February 2018 for $1.3 million.

The city issued a permit for Burkhalter Wrecking Inc. to demolish the closed Vibe nightclub at 5800 Philips Highway at a cost of almost $77,000 for construction of a Jacksonville Transportation Authority transit hub.

JTA will use the site for a bus loop transfer station for its First Coast Flyer Blue Line and other fixed routes.

It will include shelters and amenities.

JTA bought the property in February 2018 for $1.3 million.

It comprises a 16,400-square-foot structure slated for demolition on 2.82 acres.
