Jacksonville City Council Member Lori Boyer announced last week she is one of three finalists in the Downtown Investment Authority's search for a new CEO. We now know the other two candidates vying for the job.
Kevin Hanna, former New Orleans Redevelopment Authority real estate development director, was a finalist in the DIA's 2013 CEO search.
Gregory Flisram is vice president of the Economic Development Corp. of Kansas City.
The two development professionals will join Boyer in a concluding round of interviews May 15 before the DIA Board.
The finalists were selected as part of a nationwide search by Jorgenson Consulting Inc.
Travel reimbursement receipts between the two and DIA Executive Assistant Karen Underwood-Eiland indicate Flisram and Hanna will fly to Jacksonville for the May 15 interviews.
The interviews are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 117, W. Duval St., in the Lynwood Room on the first floor. They are open to the public.
Hanna was considered for DIA chief in 2013 and was one of the three finalists.
The board chose Aundra Wallace of the Detroit Land Bank Authority as the first DIA CEO.
Wallace served as CEO until last fall, when he became president of the JAXUSA Partnership of the JAX Chamber in October.
Mayor Lenny Curry’s Chief of Staff Brian Hughes has served as interim CEO since Wallace stepped down.
Hughes will replace Sam Mousa, who will retire June 28 as the city’s chief administrative officer.
Boyer, who is term-limited on council, announced Friday at a meeting of the JAX Chamber Downtown Council that she was one of the three finalists for the DIA position.
She said after the first round of interviews with Jorgenson Consultants in mid-April, the field was narrowed from about 20 candidates to three.
Boyer has been affiliated with the DIA as a council member who drafted the initial legislation that created the DIA in 2012 and later as the council’s liaison to the agency, appointed by council President Aaron Bowman.
