Stellar Group Inc. landed a permit to build the $11 million expansion in Northwest Jacksonville for Sysco International Food Group Inc.

The city issued the permit Friday for the 3100 Hilton St. project, comprising expansion of the cooler, freezer and dry warehouse as well as the addition of a cold dock and expansion of the office area.

The project is 114,643 square feet.

The city previously issued a permit for Stellar Group to build the foundation at a cost of $626,000.

A mobility fee calculation certificate shows that Sysco International Food Group plans to expand the existing 195,724-square-foot warehouse on 16.33 acres. The city calculated a fee of $41,165 to mitigate the project’s traffic impact.

Jacksonville-based Stellar, a construction management, design-build and general contracting company, is the agent.

Sysco International Food Group is the export specialty division of Houston-based food-service company Sysco Corp.

Sysco also operates Sysco Food Services Jacksonville Inc. in West Jacksonville at 1501 Lewis Industrial Drive.

The ifoodgroup.com site says IFG provides product selection and services to more than 700 customers in more than 80 countries. It distributes food and nonfood items.

It says it operates with more than 250 associates from two dedicated export facilities — a 125,000-square-foot facility in Plant City and its 200,000-square-foot Jacksonville facility.
