Three of Fishweir Brewing Co.’s craft beers will be distributed to Northeast Florida bars and restaurants by Champion Brands, the companies announced Friday.
Lazy River Pilsner, Bait & Switch Coffee Blonde and Pucker Factor Kettle Sour will be distributed in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties.
Fishweir Brewing Co., at 1183 Edgewood Ave. S. in Murray Hill, is owned by Broc Flores and his wife, Stacey. It opened in 2018.
The brewery features sour beers that have a tart, acidic taste. Sour beer takes six to eight months to mature.
“At Fishweir, we wanted to focus on providing more access to styles of beer that are less common to the Jacksonville area,” Broc Flores said in a news release.
“We hope to provide all our customers with a wide range of farmhouse style and mixed fermentation products that are sometimes referred to as ‘sour’ beer,” he said.
Champion Brands distributes beer, spirits, and nonalcoholic beverages in the Jacksonville area.
Champion Brands General Manager Jacob Benton said the Fishweir Brewing team's “passion and attention to detail are evidenced in everything from their beautiful taproom to the flavorful consistency and cleanness of their beers.”
“They’re already a staple of the Murray Hill community, and we have big expectations for their growth into Northeast Florida,” he said in the release.
