Beach Diner applied to the city for a permit to repair damage from a Nov. 2 fire at a cost of $143,000. Keith Sheets, owner of Remodeling Pros, is listed as the contractor for the project at 1965 San Marco Blvd.
The project calls for demolishing the interior to the firewalls; roof framing; renovating two bathrooms to accessibility standards; replacing floor coverings, framing, insulation and drywall trim; and painting and installing booths.
Beach Diner posted on its Facebook page after the fire that it sustained fire and smoke damage and would be closed for “the next month or so.”
Krystal applied to the city to renovate its 1009 Dunn Ave. store at a cost of $125,000.
The kitchen and drive-through will be closed during the remodeling. Inside, Krystal will add new dining décor, seating and kitchen equipment.
It appears to be part of Krystal’s recently announced program to renovate Jacksonville’s 11 company-owned Krystal locations to be remodeled and refranchised within three years.
Texas Roadhouse Inc. applied to the city for a permit to add space to its restaurant at 4578 Tropea Way at a cost of $293,000.
It proposes to add 38 seats, boosting the total to 319 seats. The size will increase from 7,163 square feet to 7,630 square feet.
The city is reviewing an application for a $400,000 interior and exterior cosmetic modification to Chuck E. Cheese at 6065 Youngerman Circle.
