Rich Demico joined Central Bank in St. Augustine as senior mortgage loan officer in the North Florida market, responsible for residential conventional, Federal Housing Administration, Veteran Affairs, portfolio lending and construction-to-permanent loans. Demico was a mortgage banker with Atlantic Coast Bank in Jacksonville.

• The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce presented awards for the 2018-19 fiscal year that included:

Chairman’s Award: Melissa Rowe, Puroclean Emergency Restoration Services

President’s Awards: Cecil Gibson, Ameris Bank; Mary O’Brien, Meridian Waste

St. Augustine Chamber Ambassador of the Year/Gene Morse Award: Robin Burchfield, St. Augustine Youth Services

Ponte Vedra Beach Division Ambassador of the Year/Grace Hayes Award: David Godwin, Transamerica Agency Network

The 2019-20 chairman of the board is Mark Nighbor of Advanced Disposal

• Jake Ammon joined Addison Commercial Real Estate Inc. as vice president, responsible for leasing and sales of office, industrial, medical and investment property. Ammon was a commercial real estate broker with SVN Alliance Commercial Real Estate Advisors.

• Keith Powers was appointed by Mayor Lenny Curry as director and fire chief of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department. He was named interim director and chief June 1. Powers has been a member of JFRD since 1996.

• Downtown Vision announced its 2019 #DTJax Award winners. The awards recognize community leaders, organizations and businesses who work to create a “vibrant and dynamic” Downtown:

Downtowner of the Year: Brian Wolfburg, CEO, VyStar Credit Union

Downtown Project of the Year: The Barnett and the University of North Florida’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Small Business of the Year: Bellwether

Downtown Ambassador of the Year: Michael Carpenter
