Jacksonville University said Sunday evening it will remain closed through Wednesday, based on the latest forecast models of Hurricane Dorian.
“The University's Emergency Preparedness Team continues to assess the latest weather updates and has been communicating regularly with students, faculty, staff and parents,” JU said in a news release.
“Their safety is our highest priority. More than 700 students remain on campus this week, and the University has stocked plenty of food, water and supplies to accommodate them in the event of an extended power outage,” it said.
JU said it is too soon to know whether campus will remain closed Thursday. It hopes to make that decision Monday “as confidence increases in the storm's path and timeline.”
