Plans proceed for an apartment community at 2001 Old Moultrie Road, near St. Augustine.

Property owner St. Augustine-based Southglen Inc. submitted an application to the St. Johns County Growth Management Department to update the apartment development approved as the Old Moultrie Road planned unit development.

That PUD was for a 312-unit multifamily community approved by St. Johns County Ordinance 2009-53.

A conceptual site plan submitted for a pre-application Development Review Committee meeting with county representatives show a 300-unit multifamily community on 30.9 acres of a 50-acre parcel. The plan is similar to the plan approved in November 2009.

The site is along the west side of Old Moultrie Road between the Cobblestone Village Shopping Mall and the Villa San Marco Condominiums. Two outparcels fronting Old Moultrie Road make up the difference in acreage.

The proposed multifamily development comprises 13 buildings of four-, eight- and 10-units, a clubhouse, pool, open space/recreation area and 610 surface parking spaces.

The plan indicates 120 one-bedroom, 138 two-bedroom and 42 three-bedroom units. The entrance road aligns with Southpark Boulevard.

The property owner did not respond to a call for comment April 3.

The civil engineer is Ormond Beach-based Newkirk Engineering Inc.
