The state Supreme Court approved 421 candidates April 13 for admission to The Florida Bar from 1,717 applicants who took all or part of the Bar exam Feb. 25-26 in Tampa.
Of the total, 560 took the exam for the first time.
From the Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, 19 graduates took the Bar for the first time with 10 passing, or 52.6%. That compared to a 60% average for graduates of the 12 law schools in Florida, according to results released April 13 by the Florida Board of Bar Examiners.
Formal induction ceremonies originally scheduled May 4 are canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Approved candidates may be sworn in by any judge or notary who is authorized to administer and oath, according to an order by the state Supreme Court.
