The Law Office of Farah & Farah submitted a building permit application to the city Aug. 4 for a $1.25 million demolition and tenant improvement project on two floors at 100 N. Laura St. Downtown.
Partner Eddie Farah said the law firm is growing, so the former gym space at the building will be built-out for offices and the third floor will be modified to allow expansion of the firm’s 24/7 call center.
“It’s got really high ceilings and the design will have more of a high-tech look,” Farah said.
Floor plans included in the application show 25 offices for attorneys and case managers, open office space, conference rooms, break rooms and storage on the second floor.
A new slab is shown on the plan for the third floor, which includes open offices, private offices, a training room and break room.
Dasher Hurst Architects is listed on the application as the qualifying licensee. McVeigh & Mangum Engineering is shown on the plans as the structural engineer for the project.
Farah said the contractor bidding process is underway and he hopes the new space will be ready for move-in in about six months.
In 2011, law partners Eddie and Chuck Farah bought the 10-story, 144,000-square-foot building at the corner of Forsyth and Laura streets for $3.5 million.
The main office is at 10 W. Adams St.
