Tractor Supply Co., with six stores in the region and a seventh in review, appears to be considering an eighth location, this one in West Jacksonville along Normandy Boulevard.
JEA is reviewing a request for service availability for a project called Tractor Supply Company Jacksonville West at 8984 Normandy Blvd. The site is near Herlong Road and is west of Interstate 295.
Applicant Dynamic Engineering Consultants PC describes the project as a 22,433-square-foot Tractor Supply Co. retail sales establishment with parking, landscape areas, an outdoor display area and infrastructure.
The five parcels identified in the request total at least 4.75 acres.
It is the second new location in consideration.
The city has been reviewing civil engineering plans for the proposed Tractor Supply Co. store at northeast St. Johns Bluff Road South and Bahia Drive in the Sandalwood area.
Hix Snedeker Companies LLC is the developer of the proposed 24,333-square-foot store on 8.27 acres.
The Jacksonville Planning Commission executed an order Oct. 22 for a zoning exception on the vacant site on behalf of landowner Pozin Six Children LLC to allow for outdoor storage for rental or sale of construction equipment.
A spokesperson for Tractor Supply confirmed Dec. 7 that a new store is planned to open in 2022 in Jacksonville East, but did not provide an address because the project still is in development.
Plans have identified that location as the St. Johns Bluff Road project.
The spokesperson could not comment about additional new locations.
Tractor Supply Co. has six area locations at 9025 New Kings Road near I-295 in Jacksonville’s Dinsmore area and in Orange Park, St. Augustine, Saint Johns, Macclenny and Yulee.
The company, based in Brentwood, Tennessee, operates 1,900 stores in 49 states. It was founded more than 80 years ago.
The company calls itself the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States and a one-stop shop for recreational farmers, ranchers and others.
It sells products for the home, land, pets and animals with a focus on the needs of those living “Life Out Here.”
