Aldi grocery at Philips Highway a $2 million project

Construction permit in review for store at 3650 Philips Highway.

The city is reviewing a permit application for Schmid Construction Inc. to build an Aldi grocery store at 3650 Philips Highway at a construction cost of $1.95 million.

Aldi Inc. plans a discount neighborhood food market of 20,442 square feet of enclosed space and 1,278 square feet of unenclosed space on 2.76 acres where Wells Fargo previously operated at Philips Highway and Emerson Street.

Aldi’s Haines City division is developing the site. Schmid Construction is based in Clermont. SGA Design Group of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is the architect.
