Discount grocer Aldi announced Feb. 11 it will open its store March 5 in the Parkway Shops in North Jacksonville.
The store at 15324 Max Leggett Parkway is next to Hobby Lobby and near River City Marketplace.
Aldi will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:25 a.m. March 5 with gift cards given to the first 100 customers. On March 6, shoppers can enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of Aldi produce.
Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
“The ALDI approach to grocery retailing is different by design. Our stores, including our brand new Jacksonville store, are purposefully designed to create cost savings and efficiencies on every shopping trip,” said Matt Thon, Haines city division vice president for Aldi, in a news release. “We know shopping for groceries is essential, which is why we work hard to make it easy and enjoyable.”
Aldi is expanding in Florida and has 12 Northeast Florida sites opened or proposed. The Germany-based grocer operates two distribution centers and 144 stores in Florida and says it plans to open as many as 20 more in 2020. The company operates more than 1,900 U.S. stores in 36 states.
Aldi says it is adding 25,000 jobs in stores, warehouses and offices across the country by the end of 2022. To search for job openings, visit care
