Tommy Bahama announced Feb. 11 it will open its Jacksonville Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar in March.
It said its newest location opened Feb. 8 in Dania Pointe in Greater Fort Lauderdale and will open another this month in Fort Lauderdale, followed by the Jacksonville store in St. Johns Town Center.
Tommy Bahama created the restaurant and bar to operate alongside a retail store, “where guests can eat, drink and shop.”
More Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar locations are scheduled to open this year in Las Vegas; San Diego; and Lahaina, Hawaii, it said.
“Florida is a big part of our heritage and the essence of Tommy Bahama,” said Doug Wood, CEO of Tommy Bahama, in a news release.
“Over the last 20 years, we have seen how our guests enjoy the Tommy Bahama retail concept when it is combined with a restaurant. It’s one of the ways Tommy Bahama is different from other lifestyle brands.”
Tommy Bahama Marlin Bars feature a retail store selling Tommy Bahama men’s and women's sportswear, swimwear, accessories and home décor alongside the “casual-hybrid restaurant and full-service bar.”
Guests place their order at the bar and the food and cocktails are delivered to their table. Each location has an open floor plan with patio seating.
The Marlin Bar restaurant offers frozen drinks, handcrafted cocktails, local beers and wines, as well as salads, bowls and sandwiches.
Menu items include coconut shrimp, ahi tuna tacos, Cuban sandwiches. Nashville chicken sliders and more.
Seattle-based Tommy Bahama operates more than 160 retail locations, 17 of which include the food and beverage component.
The 7,760-square-foot St. Johns Town Center location is at 4812 River City Drive, No. 137, at the corner of the corridor leading to Nordstrom.
The Tommy Bahama retail store will relocate from 4813 River City Drive, Suite 107.
