The national traveling exhibit, “100 Years After the 19th Amendment: Their Legacy and Our Future,” will be on display March 23 - April 3 at the Duval County Courthouse.
The display is a project of the American Bar Association Standing Committee on the Law and the Library of Congress. It reflects the theme of the ABA's 2020 Law Day observance May 1.
The centennial exhibit features historical photographs and tells the story of the battle for ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that grants women the right to vote.
Posters based on the 19th Amendment created by students at West Riverside Elementary School, one of the Jacksonville Bar Association's Law Week events, will be displayed along with the exhibit.
The public is invited to an all-ages reception for the exhibit at 5 p.m. March 24 at the courthouse, said U.S. District Judge Marcia Morales Howard.
The U.S. Navy Band will perform and Laura Rosenbury, dean of the University of Florida Levin College of Law, will welcome guests to the exhibit.

Bringing the exhibit to Jacksonville is made possible by the 4th Judicial Circuit Court, the Jacksonville Bar Association, Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association, Chester Bedell American Inn of Court, Jacksonville Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and Jacksonville Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
Financial support is provided by the lawyers and judges of the U.S. District Court Middle District of Florida through the Bench Bar Fund.
