Retail notes: Penzeys Spices closes at Town Center; Sport Clips Haircuts taking some of space

Penzeys Spices closed at 4413 Town Center Parkway in St. John’s Town Center North last year after five years.

Stephanie McCullough, partner at The Shopping Center Group, said half of the vacated space has been leased to Sport Clips Haircuts, Suite 211, and another tenant in negotiation will lease the rest, Suite 209.

Penzeys Spices has not responded to a request for comment about the closing. 

Sleep Number at Town Center

 The city is reviewing plans for Sleep Number to build-out tenant space at The Crossing at Town Center. Chris Matras Enterprises Inc. of Bradenton is the contractor for the $270,000 build-out of 4,000 square feet at 4838 Gate Parkway, No. 5.

Chop in Riverside

The city is reviewing tenant plans for Chop Barbershop at 50 Riverside Ave. in Brooklyn Place. GBGH Construction Inc. of Tallahassee is the contractor for the 1,520-square-foot space.

Tallahassee-based Chop’s first Jacksonville location is in Murray Hill.
