City Council member Rory Diamond, along with Jason Gabriel and Sean Granat from the Office of General Counsel, issued a memorandum Jan. 24 to JEA officials, advising them to “cease the destruction, purging, or removal of any and all records” in their possession.

The advisory included any kind of document, hard copies or those located in electronic databases.

The memo went to Interim Managing Director and CEO Melissa Dykes and Chief Administrative Officer Herschel Vinyard among others.

Diamond, Gabriel and Granat wrote JEA officials should “maintain reasonable means of access to data,” preserve JEA-related text messages and save passwords needed to access JEA-related information.
