The Webb Wesconnett Regional Library is closed because a staff member tested positive for COVID-19, according to a news release from the Jacksonville Public Library.
The staff member last worked at the branch at 6887 103rd St. in West Jacksonville on June 30 and July 1.
The building is closed for deep cleaning and is expected to reopen later this week.
Contact tracing has identified 20 staff members who potentially were less than 6 feet from the employee for more than one minute. Those employees are self-isolating until their COVID-19 test results return, according to city guidelines, which exceed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendation.
The staff member who had the positive result will be able to return to work after receiving two negative COVID-19 tests.
With the health safety protocols put in place at libraries by the city, the likelihood of a customer being at risk is assumed to be low, the release says.
