Edwards honored for lifetime achievement

Edwards & Ragatz partner Tom Edwards was unanimously elected by the Florida Justice Association to receive the Al J. Cone Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award is presented for lifetime achievement in protecting consumer rights and the justice system.

His career includes past presidency of the association, Jacksonville Bar Association and Jacksonville chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Edwards has served in leadership roles including the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Management Council, The Florida Commission on Access to Civil Justice, Florida Supreme Court Civil Jury Instructions and Florida Supreme Court Business Jury Instructions. 

Edwards also was chair of the 4th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee, National Board for the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Executive Committee for the Florida Bar Trial Lawyer’s Section.

The Al J. Cone Lifetime Achievement Award is named for the founding president of the Florida Justice Association (formerly the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers) who dedicated nearly 50 years to protecting civil justice and the rights of working people.

Edwards will accept the award later this year at the Founder’s Day Banquet of the Florida Justice Association.
