Imeson Park is preparing for a 1,063,684-square-foot industrial facility, associated parking and utilities at 10501 Cold Storage Road, Unit 500, in North Jacksonville
England-Thims & Miller Inc. filed civil plans with the city June 18 after applying for a new city development number.
Plans show the property would include 490 parking spaces for trailers and 1,542 spaces for cars, along with 32 accessible spaces and 16 motorcycle spaces.
The developer of the 156-acre Imeson Park is JI Imeson Industrial LLC, part of VanTrust Real Estate LLC. VanTrust Executive Vice President John Carey said June 22 there is “no news at this time.”
Imeson Park is at northeast North Main Street and Zoo Parkway,
Carey said in April the industrial market is active, primarily because of one sector. “I think it’s pretty straightforward. It’s all about e-commerce,” Carey said.
Along with internet retailer Amazon.com, a lot of large companies are expanding their e-commerce distribution, he said.
“We participate in a number of calls with market experts to talk about various sectors and clearly the e-commerce distribution side of industrial appears to be the one sector that is poised to continue to grow,” he said in April.
Several 1 million-square-foot buildings that match the need for e-commerce centers are in review in Jacksonville, including one at northeast Interstate 95 and Pecan Park Road, also in North Jacksonville.
Benderson Development Co. LLC of University Park plans to start work on two industrial buildings totaling 2 million square feet of space, comprising the 498,960-square-foot Building 100 and the almost 1.54 million-square-foot Building 200.
