Clay County residents and businesses financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic can apply for one-time cash payment grants of up to $1,000 per household or $2,000 per business through the Clay County CARES Act program.
From July 2-Sept. 8, applications will be reviewed in the order received or until all the money is distributed.
Applications and the terms, conditions and eligibility requirements are available at Alert.ClayCountyGov.com.
The money is intended to assist with mortgage, rent or utility payments.
For Clay County Family and Individual Assistance Grants, residents must prove an economic loss on or after March 1 that is directly related to the pandemic.
For Clay County Business Assistance Grants, small businesses may apply who have been in operation since Oct. 1, have no more than 25 full-time equivalent employees and have suffered business interruption on or after March 1.
The money can be used only to reimburse the cost of business interruption caused by required closures because of the pandemic that were not paid by insurance or other federal programs.
