The city is reviewing plans to add more than 68,000 square feet of infill retail development in the Atlantic North shopping center at 11901 Atlantic Blvd. at northwest Kernan and Atlantic boulevards.
A site plan shows two “future build areas,” with 22,000- and 25,000-square-foot stores between Belk and Earth Fare and five spaces between Academy and LA Fitness.
Of those five, the largest are 19,000, 10,000 and 8,500 square feet. Sleiman Enterprises is the developer.
No tenants were identified. President Toney Sleiman said previously that he is working with Best Buy, but did not confirm it would be in Atlantic North.
England-Thims & Miller Inc. filed civil engineering plans with the city for the Northpoint Village Shopping Center at northeast New Berlin and Yellow Bluff roads in North Jacksonville.
It will be anchored by a 48,387-square-foot Publix Super Markets Inc. store. Plans show more than 66,000 square feet of space, some on each side of the Publix, along with five outparcels of 0.89 to 1.53 acres on about 16.5 acres.
International Management Co. LLC announced in a news release April 22 that it signed a lease with Publix to anchor the center.
IMC expects to complete it in summer 2022.
