Culver’s plans Yulee restaurant

The Wisconsin-based chain opened in Middleburg and has at least three more locations identifed.

Wisconsin-based Culver’s, known for ButterBurgers, cheese curds and frozen custard, plans a 126-seat restaurant at 463731 Florida 200 in Yulee.

The Nassau County Development Review Committee is scheduled to meet June 23 to consider the proposed restaurant on 1.2 acres of undeveloped land owned by VyStar Credit Union in the Shoppes at Amelia Concourse.

Plans show a 3,792-square-foot building along the north side of Florida 200 with 102 indoor seats, 24 outdoor patio seats, a drive-thru and 53 parking spaces. It is in front of the Target store.

Highland, Wisconsin-based McCON Building Corp. submitted the documents for the preapplication meeting.

 The civil engineer is Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc.

Culvers opened its first Northeast Florida restaurant in Middleburg in Clay County and has a second restaurant in development at 7923 Parramore Road in southwest Jacksonville. St. Johns County is reviewing a proposed Culver’s restaurant at Moultrie Road and U.S. 1 South in St. Augustine.

More than 740 Culver’s restaurants operate nationwide.
