John Wallace joined Smith Hulsey & Busey as a shareholder in the firm. He practices environmental law, real estate, and land use and zoning law with an emphasis on litigation.
Wallace previously practiced with two other Jacksonville firms and was an assistant state attorney in the 4th Judicial Circuit.
He graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law. Wallace was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2008 and also is admitted to practice in Alabama and Georgia.
St. Augustine is seeking applicants for the assistant city attorney position.
The assistant city attorney works on all aspects of municipal law, such as ordinance drafting, civil and criminal code enforcement litigation, public hearings, contracts and procurement, interlocal agreements, annexations, Florida public records law and Government in the Sunshine requirements.
The candidate selected will be responsible for assisting the city attorney in providing legal support to the City Commission, departments and related city boards and committees.
Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with The Florida Bar with at least two years’ experience.

Kevin Scott Caldwell, P.O. Box 8716, Fleming Island, is suspended indefinitely by order of the state Supreme Court effective 30 days following a Dec. 30 court order.
Caldwell failed to respond to The Florida Bar regarding several complaints filed against him by clients. The court held Caldwell in contempt in addition to his suspension.
The court also ordered Caldwell to pay $1,250 in costs.
