Duval County Judge Pauline Drake retired Feb. 27, creating a vacancy on the court.

The 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission received 12 applications for the seat and will interview the candidates March 9 at the Duval County Courthouse.

9:30 a.m.: Julie Taylor, general counsel for the 4th Circuit.

9:45 a.m.: Theresa Simak, an assistant state attorney.

10 a.m.: W. Joel Powell, an attorney at Edwards & Ragatz.

10:15 a.m.: Alphonse Perkins, an assistant public defender.

10:30 a.m.: Break

10:45 a.m.: Rhonda Peoples-Waters, president of Rhonda Peoples-Waters PA

11 a.m.: Stacey Myers, attorney and mortgage loan originator.

11:15 a.m.: Matthew Lufrano, partner at Johnson & Lufrano PA

11:30 a.m.: Robin Lanigan, general magistrate.

11:45 a.m.: Lunch and deliberations

1 p.m.: Ronald Davis II, president, Ronald J. Davis II PA

1:15 p.m.: Jeffrey Davenport, general counsel, Clay County Sheriff's Office.

1:30 p.m.: Jeb Branham, president, Jeb T. Branham PA

1:45 p.m.: Janet Abel, circuit director, state Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel.

2 p.m.: Deliberations resume.

Interviews will be conducted in the chief judge's chambers, Room 7139.

The commission will submit up to six nominees to Gov. Ron DeSantis, who will appoint Drake's replacement after the nominees are interviewed in Tallahassee.

Except for deliberations, proceedings of the commission are open to the public.
