City approves $1 million Paycor build-out

The payroll and HR firm expects to hire 130 people.

The city approved a permit Feb. 28 for Duckworth Construction Co. to build-out 33,786 square feet of space for Paycor Inc. at 6735 Southpoint Drive S. at a cost of $962,030. 

Spokeswoman Katy Bunn said previously Paycor intends to hire up to 130 people as it expands in Southside.

Paycor, a nationwide payroll and human resources company. opened its Jacksonville office 20 years ago.

It employs 90 people at its 11,000-square-foot office in Greystone Business Park at 10550 Deerwood Park Blvd., No. 306.

It will expand this spring into the space under renovation on the second floor of a building in Innovation Park.

Bunn said Paycor “will be undergoing a complete space renovation including new furniture, fixtures and equipment.”

Paycor said hiring will start for client service-based positions when it occupies the space. Jobs are posted online at paycor.com/careers.

The Cincinnati-based company says it serves more than 30,000 small and medium-size businesses nationwide.

Colliers International Northeast Florida announced Dec. 3 that Paycor leased space at Innovation Park, a two-building office complex at 6735 and 6737 Southpoint Drive S. previously used by CSX Corp. CSX vacated the space in March 2018.
