Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie grocery stores, Publix, and Fresh Market announced adjustments to its hours in response to COVID-19.

Harvey's and Winn-Dixie will designate 8-9 a.m. Monday-Friday for senior citizens and high-risk customers. All pharmacy locations will open at 8 a.m. weekdays to serve those customers.

On weekends, pharmacy locations will open at the usual time.

Stores will close at 8 p.m., an hour reduction from a previous cut.

Publix will designate 7 to 8 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday for shoppers age 65 or older. It will begin March 24.

Fresh Market is opening for seniors and high-risk individuals from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Jacksonville-based Southeastern Grocers also intends to hire additional associates and is offering positions to workers affected by restricted working hours because of mandated store and restaurant closures.

Applicants can visit Bi-Lo, Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie grocery stores for more information or visit www.segrocers.com/careers.

Also, the SEG Gives Foundation will donate $250,000 to Feeding America.

Anthony Hucker, Southeaster Grocers president and CEO, said the company is “doing everything in our power during this time of uncertainty to lessen the impact it has on our associates, customers, community members and their loved ones.”

“When shopping in our stores, please be kind to one another and take a minute to thank our heroic associates for going above and beyond to serve our customers. Now more than ever, it is imperative we work together to ensure all individuals and families have access to a safe shopping environment as well as fresh, nutritious meals as more people are eating at home,” he said.

Story is updated with a new closing time for Winn-Dixie and Harveys
