Peterbrooke Chocolatier can build-out its relocated candy shop at the VyStar Credit Union campus Downtown.

The city issued a permit May 5 for Dana B. Kenyon Co. to renovate 1,433 square feet of space on the ground floor at 100 W. Bay St. for the Jacksonville-based chocolate candy company at a cost of $294,256.

Peterbrooke will occupy space on the first floor of a seven-story building that VyStar Credit Union bought next to its 23-story tower at 76 S. Laura St.

Peterbrooke leased space in the West Bay Street building before VyStar bought it in February 2019 and began renovations. The chocolate shop temporarily relocated into the VyStar Tower.

VyStar also plans to open The Bread & Board Provisions, a specialty marketplace, on the first floor. The Jacksonville Bread & Board restaurant intends to operate a 7,200-square-foot “farmers-market bazaar” with culinary offerings and local retailers.

The restaurant will be about 5,000 square feet and the marketplace is 2,200 square feet.
