Publix Super Markets Inc. will open its first Northeast Florida GreenWise Market at 7 a.m. June 20 in Nocatee Town Center.

The store is at 250 Pine Lakes Drive. Operating hours will be determined as opening approaches. Most GreenWise stores are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Publix announced in February 2019 it will open the area’s first GreenWise Market in Nocatee Town Center. GreenWise will lease 25,150 square feet, according to Skinner Bros. Realty, which is developing the retail center with The PARC Group.

It is the first of at least two area GreenWise stores, both in St. Johns County.

GreenWise announced in October it would open a second area store in St. Augustine near Florida 16 and International Golf Parkway at World Commerce Center. That store is expected to open in 2021.

Publix describes GreenWise Market as a specialty, natural and organic store featuring items for the health-conscious and gourmet market.

The store is divided into experience zones, it said.

GreenWise describes them as:

• EATS is a large prepared foods area that is home to gourmet pizzas, burrito bowls, chef-created sandwiches and a selection of heat and eat main courses and sides. Items are created using organic meats and cheeses, and vegan options are available.

• In POURS, customers can purchase beer, wine, coffee or other beverages to drink while they shop.

• CUTS is home to organic and sustainably sourced meats, including in-house smoked meats and sausages.

• In FINDS, customers can discover new items, beer and wine, and gourmet options for a charcuterie platter.

GreenWise Markets are smaller than traditional Publix stores and often are located near the full-line supermarkets, such as at Nocatee.

An almost 61,400-square-foot Publix was built in 2010 at 120 Marketside Ave. at Nocatee Town Center. The store is about 55,000 square feet of interior conditioned space.

The GreenWise.com site shows that six stores are open in Florida, Alabama and South Carolina and six more are planned in Florida and Georgia.
