Owners Mason Asset Management and Namdar Realty Group announced May 11 that more than two dozen tenants reopened at Regency Square Mall as Gov. Ron DeSantis allowed retailers to open with restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Anchor J.C. Penney remains closed at the 9501 Arlington Expressway Mall. The department store chain also has not reopened its Northeast Florida stores in The Avenues mall or the Orange Park Mall.
The Regency Square Mall announcement said the shopping center limits hours to 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
The mall was permitted to open May 4 but it took a few days for some tenants to resume operations.
“This will allow for enhanced sanitizing and disinfecting,” the ownership said in a news release.
Owners said its teams will take precautionary measures at all of its properties.
The announcement said mall employees, vendors and contractors will be required to screen their body temperatures before coming to work to guarantee they are below 100.4 degrees and that they do not exhibit symptons of the flu.
Mall management employees will be given protective face masks and encouraged to follow Centers for Disease Control and Protection guidelines. The housekeeping staff will keep high-traffic areas clean and disinfected.
Food-court and common-area seating will be limited and spaced for social distancing. The mall will use directional signage and floor decals for traffic flow.
Mall walking will be canceled until further notice.
Mall owners ask patrons, tenants and employees to follow the protocols.
