All divisions of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida are open for business, but the intake windows that closed March 23, including in Jacksonville, remain shut.
People representing themselves without an attorney are directed to file petitions and other papers with the court by email, fax or by U.S. mail.
Self-represented filers (pro se) are encouraged to submit documents by email because processing of documents filed in other ways may be delayed, according to the court.
Bankruptcy petitions, whether filed by fax or email, must be accompanied by a copy of the driver’s license(s) of the debtor(s).
Pro se parties may email a signed bankruptcy petition (including all supporting schedules) or other documents to the court at: [email protected].
Bankruptcy petitions may be filed only by fax at (904) 301-6494. Supporting documents must be submitted by email or U.S. mail.
Original bankruptcy petitions and schedules that are filed by email or fax must also be mailed to the court. If a pro se party files a bankruptcy petition by fax or email, the party must send by U.S. mail or other delivery the original petition and supporting schedules and papers, with original signatures, to the court at: U.S. Bankruptcy Court, 300 N. Hogan St. Suite 3-150, Jacksonville, 32202.
Attorneys are directed to continue to file bankruptcy petitions and other papers via the court’s electronic filing system.
