City officials are finalizing COVID-19-related health and safety protocols so they can reopen most Jacksonville government offices by June 1, according to Mayor Lenny Curry.
City officials will require temperature checks for visitors to city buildings and might reduce density at entry points to maintain social distancing.
City Council President Scott Wilson said he might continue holding full Council and committee meetings via videoconferencing beyond June 1 until a policy for public access and social distancing in Council chambers can be developed.
Duval County Tax Collector Jim Overton plans to reopen the Roosevelt branch office at 6331 Roosevelt Blvd. on May 21 and the Gateway branch office at 910 W. 44th St. on May 28, both for appointment-only service.
On May 13, the Tax Collector’s Office began serving customers by appointment only at its 7120 Hogan Road office in South Jacksonville.
Jacksonville Public Library locations are considering curbside pickup and return options beginning May 27 and reopening some locations, to be determined, at 50% capacity by June 1, Curry said.
