Baptist Health opened the first phase of its Baptist HealthPlace center in Nocatee, home to a YMCA, wellness coaching, primary care and rehabilitation services, Nov. 9.
The $29.5 million, two-story, 83,000-square facility is on 12 acres at 400 Colonnade Drive. It is west of Nocatee Town Center and is visible on the east side of Nocatee Parkway.
Baptist Center for Healthy Living, which provides free wellness coaching and health screenings along with health classes and events, is on the first floor. Wolfson Children’s Rehabilitation, Brooks Rehabilitation and Baptist Primary Care also are on the first floor.
Season’s Cafe is in the main lobby and serves coffee, smoothies and healthy food options.
Outside, there is an “airnasium” open-air basketball court for pickup games, leagues and group exercise classes. It is part of the YMCA, which is on the second floor.
The YMCA opened Nov. 12. It offers cardio and weight training equipment, group exercise classes and a small group workout area.
The second phase will open in the spring. It includes Baptist Pediatrics, Baptist Behavioral Health, Baptist Heart Specialists, Borland Groover gastrointestinal and liver care, imaging and lab services, North Florida OB-GYN and Women’s Physicians of Jacksonville.
“Baptist HealthPlace at Nocatee was created with the input of people living in this community, and what services they told us would be of value,” said Baptist Health President and CEO Brett McClung in a news release.
“Our on-site wellness coach in the Baptist Center for Healthy Living will offer a concierge approach to assisting people with their health-related questions, directing them to the right resources, and linking together services to help save time.”
Baptist Health purchased the property through Pavilion Health Services in October 2018 for $3.72 million.
Batson Cook was the contractor on the project. Charlotte-based FreemanWhite was the architect.
